Female child and family therapist in Rockwood Ontario.

Hi, I'm Sabrina.

I believe that all people are valuable, worthy and deserve empathy and a safe space to explore who they are and who they want to be. I am a fellow traveller with my own lived mental health experience and as such, I take it as an absolutely privilege to make space for other peoples journeys. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

Approach

I have years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults with their mental health. I understand the complex dynamics of mental health challenges and the interconnectedness of individual well-being within a holistic model. My approach integrates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and trauma-informed practices tailored to each client’s unique needs.

I utilize a holistic and emotion focussed approach, and I value building trust, promoting self-awareness, and celebrating each client’s progress. Whether working individually or with families, I am committed to helping clients build meaningful, fulfilling lives by understanding the root cause of their present day concerns.

Areas of Focus

In my work with OCD and Trauma, I am dedicated to empowering clients to break free from cycles of anxiety and intrusive thoughts while fostering resilience and healing. When working with Neurodivergent Conditions (ASD, ADHD), I focus on skill building by utilizing clients strengths, time management through realistic goal setting, and moderating emotional regulation through mindfulness, movement and bringing awareness to the window of tolerance. Regardless of the treatment focus, I aim to create a warm, collaborative space where everyone feels heard and supported, facilitating growth and harmony in the face of life’s challenges.

I have specific interest in working with children, families and youth navigate the world and become who they’ve always been destined to be. I am incredibly passionate about setting kids and youth up for success by creating a space that welcomes them, without judgement, to explore what their experiences mean to them, and how to make sense of the world around them.

On a Personal Note

I have 3 dogs named Teddy, Tilly and Mya, and a cat named Mittens. My husband and I spend most of our time checking out trails or enjoying some home time on the couch with our pack. In my spare time, I love to nap, listen to podcasts and share space with our friends who are like family.
